Christie Reed, 59 year old Woodward resident, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2020 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel.
Christie Ann Reed was born on August 27, 1960 in Minneola, Kansas to Rodney Alan Reed and Karen Marie (DeBolt) Ansley. She grew up in Mooreland and graduated from Mooreland High School. Christie received her Bachelors degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and later received her Master of Arts degree in Psychology. She was united in marriage to Kent S. Hill in the Dominican Republic. They made their first home in Scott City, Kansas before moving to Woodward. Christie was the developer and Program Director for the (Kid Crew), an infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Program of Compass Behavioral Health in Garden City, Kansas. Due to her Pioneering efforts with that program, she was bestowed the Janet Sevier Gilbreath Special Project Award by the United Methodist Health Ministry Foundation. She was also the Director for the Head Start Program in Garden City, Kansas. After moving to Woodward, she became Director for the Northwest Center for Behavioral Health.
Christie loved spending time with her son Andrew and with her family. She enjoyed reading, going to concerts, going for long walks, and traveling with her husband, taking trips to Denver, Colorado, or Kansas City for long weekends. Christie always enjoyed a good book and a good bottle of wine. She loved her family.
She is survived by her husband Kent S. Hill of the home; one son, Andrew Reed-Moutray; parents, Karen Ansley and husband Elmer, Rodney Reed; brothers and sisters include, Nathan Reed and wife Marty; Stan Ansley and late wife Shelley; Ron Sittner and wife Frances; Cathy Elliott and husband Mike; Van Ansley-Walker; Jan Robinson and Will Jenkins; Marlys Sittner and husband Boyd Hughes; Diane Sooter and husband John; Susan Sandgren and husband Steve; many other relatives and close friends.
Christie was preceded in death by her step-mother Eileen Reed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer research with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
