Earnest Lee Redford departed this life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 surrounded by family at his home.
Earnest was born on Friday, December 1, 1950, to Harold Redford and Bobbie (Hudson) Redford in Stroud, OK. Earnest lived his younger life in Kansas, graduating from Wellington High School in Wellington, Kansas in 1968. After high school, he attended Kansas University for a bit then decided to join the US Navy. During that time, he met and married Kathy Klotz on March 5, 1971 in Vallejo, CA. The Navy had them in a few other places until moving back to Stroud after he served 8 years. When he got back to Stroud he became a Deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office. He served in that capacity for 18 years and then retired. In Earnest’s free time he enjoyed roping and getting to ride horses. He also enjoyed other outdoor activities like hunting, fishing and camping. Earnest was a fair good man, and his caring loving spirit will be missed.
Earnest is preceded by his mother Bobbie Redford; his father Henry Redford and stepmom Audry; and brothers Ivan and Randy Redford.
Earnest leaves behind his wife of 53 years Kathy Redford; son Jerry Redford; grandchildren Aunitsy and William Redford; brother James Redford and wife Buffy; sister Barbara Whitham and husband Gene; sister-in-laws Marsha Redford and Allison Redford; as well as many extended family and a host of friends.
