Janice E. Redding, 67, of Norman passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Norman. She was born August 18, 1947 in Torrance, California to Marshel and Norma (Clark) Powell.
At an early age, Janice worked for a company and made pool tables. Janice worked as a mental health aide at Griffin Memorial Hospital and the Veterans Hospital for a total of 30 years before retiring. She was an excellent seamstress. Janice enjoyed playing solitaire. She loved spending time with her family and cherished family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Geilenfeldt. Janice is survived by her parents; her four children, Jeffrey Powell, Dan McBath, J. Turner, and Jennifer Turner; two sisters, Lisa Chavez and Debbie Mason; grandchildren, Shanon McCown Powell, Michelle McCown Powell, Connor McBath, Samuel McBath, Amber Turner, Gary Handcock, Jr., and Chyenne Airington; great grandchildren, Jill Gunnar McCowan Powell, Lane Turner, and Sadie McBath.
Visitation for will be from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 6th at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel.
