Ella Jane (Gray) Reaves

Ella Jane Reaves, 67, of Pocola, passed away Sept. 3, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark.

She was born Oct. 28, 1941, in Pocola. She as a retired school teacher. She began her career in elementary education at Jefferson Davis Elementary in Oklahoma City in 1962, taught at Raymond F. Orr in Fort Smith, Ark. and retired from Poteau Elementary in 2003. She was a member of Pocola United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, P.W. Gray.

She is survived by her husband, George of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Britt and Jaymi Reaves of Pocola; grandchildren Hayden Reaves and Alyssa Reaves; her mother, Francis Gray of Pocola; numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.

A celebration of life service was conducted Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. at Evans Memorial Chapel, Pocola, with Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be make to the American Cancer Society. Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Pocola, was in charge of arrangements.
