Randy Kirk Rathgeber, age 65, of Kiowa, Kansas, passed from this life on July 18, 2019, at Kiowa Hospital District Manor. He was born on July 7, 1954, in Kiowa, Kansas, to Dick Rathgeber and Norlene Hood Rathgeber. He graduated from Kiowa High School with the class of 1972. Randy was a member of the Kiowa Lions Club.
Randy worked for Barber County Bridge Crew for over 37 years and retired in 2016. He was a fun loving guy who didn't know a stranger and had a streak of "onery" in him. He loved to fish, spend time riding around with Dean, and play horseshoes with Rocky as well as spending time with family and friends.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Norlene Rathgeber and a special friend, Dianne Shriegly.
He is survived by two daughters, Miranda Gilliland and Melissa Rathgeber, both of Alva, Oklahoma; two brothers, Keith and wife, Janie and Scott and wife, Charmaine, all of Kiowa; five grandchildren, KayLee, Kylee, Gracie, and Cambrie Gilliland and Presley Shramek; nieces; nephews, and many friends and family.
Funeral services for Randy were held on Monday, July 29, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Kiowa United Methodist Church with burial to following in Riverview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa. Online condolences may be made at http://www.lanmanmemorials.com.
Memorials may be given to Kiowa Hospital District Manor, Heartland Hospice or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through the funeral home.
