Loyd Russel Randolph

Loyd Russel Randolph
September 15, 1930 ~ December 25, 2020

Heaven gained a treasure with the passing of Loyd Russel Randolph of Marsing, Idaho, on Christmas Day 2020.

Loyd filled his 90 years of life with an abundance of wonderful memories. He cherished the perfect wife for him, Martha Mae Karban, and together over their 58 years of marriage raised 5 children. His family, his grandchildren, his great-grandchilden, his great-great-grandchildren were the joys of his life. His passing will leave an unmeasurable void in their lives as he never missed a family celebration or event.

He had been well taught by his parents to live a life where the most important things in life were God, Faith, Family and your own integrity. He was baptized in his teen years and after moving to Marsing, Idaho, was ordained a Deacon in the Followers of Christ Church. He lived his life in a Godly manner, setting an example to many youth and young adults with many of them calling him "Grandpa," seeking him out for wisdom and advice.

Born September 15, 1930, in Ames, Oklahoma, Loyd was raised by Raymond and Blanche Randolph. His work career started working alongside his parents and five siblings on a farm near Ames. He left the farm right after graduating, moving to Enid, Oklahoma, to take a job as Messenger Boy at Central National Bank. There he met his forever partner, Martha Mae Karban. His work ethics and his love for people saw him advancing over the years to Senior Vice President and Board Member. After leaving the bank, he purchased a Baskins Robins 31 Flavors store. A vacation to Marsing, Idaho, led he and Martha to move their family and his Mom and Dad in 1972 to Nampa, Idaho. To be closer to his mom and dad, they moved to a small Idaho community in Marsing, Idaho, that was blessed with a multitude of family and church members. In Marsing he worked as sales manager for CBI Collection Agency.

Loyd loved to travel and treated his family to many wonderful vacations. After retiring in 1989, he and Martha took a multitude of vacations. After Martha's passing in 2008, Loyd continued his travels - oftentimes alone or with his children and family. Everyone has heard of the trip to the Grand Canyon where they rode the mules to the bottom. If he returned to one of the spots where he and his beloved Martha had visited before, he would share all their favorite eating places and where you could get the best pie. Oh, did Loyd love pie!! He always enjoyed his job as pie judge at the Canyon County fair for many years, and would always find a pie on his doorstep from one of his many friends.

Loyd believed in keeping fit. He never missed a day without going for a walk, whether it be at Karcher Mall in the winter or just around the neighborhood in Marsing. He had a huge fondness for the Cinema. Loyd loved movies and would watch his favorites like "Out of Africa," "Lonesome Dove," "Dances with Wolves," "Gone with the Wind" many times over and over.

Loyd loved people - he never met a stranger or if they were strangers they would soon become friends. To say Loyd had many friends is an understatement, living the truth of the scripture John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Loyd is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Blanche Randolph; his beloved wife Martha; three sisters, Nellie Rose, Fayetta and Helen; three children, Jason, Phillip, Teri; one grandchild Neil; and one great-grandchild Talon. He will be missed by a multitude of people, his sister, Hazel Kampschroeder; his brother Johnnie Randolph; his children Connie and Chris; daughters-in-law Wanda and Cristina; son-in-law Brian; grandchildren Rusty (Kelli), Jennifer (Dale), Sharee (Jeff), Ashley (Russ), Kyle (Tiffany), Kasey (Karla), Brianne (Mark), Connor (Jaylee), Spencer (Kendra), Hayden (Bailey) and Zack; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020, at the Followers of Christ Church, Marsing. Burial will follow at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com.
