William Walker Randall

William Walker Randall
April 8, 1954 ~ June 1, 2012 (age 58)

William Walker Randall, 58, was born on April 8, 1954, in Washington, D.C. to Raymond L. and Betty C. Randall.

After spending his early years in Southeast Asia, where his father was employed by the Agency for International Development and the Ford Foundation, he settled with his family in Norman, Oklahoma. Walker was a 1972 graduate of Norman High School, attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with an accounting degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Early in life, Walker was a very successful restaurant owner and operator.  He suffered a tragic spinal cord injury at a young age. However, with courage, grace and a sense of humor, he continued to face and conquer the burdens of daily life. In 1988, he married Karen Rose Carney, who was the love of his life. Despite his debilitating injury, Walker attacked every day with incredible courage and enthusiasm. He was a total marvel to those who were fortunate enough to observe his indomitable spirit. Sadly, for those he leaves behind, he was called to heaven on June 1, 2012, where he is walking and running with those who left before him.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Karen, brother Clarke and his wife Laurie, extended family members William, Diana, Elise and Brooks Kreiling, Karen Keever, Dylan Keever, William Veulemans and Kimberly Kreiling. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Rachel and Alex Manuel, Kelly and Megan Carney, and Matthew and Christopher Starr.  We will miss you very much but are at peace knowing you have been released from your earthly bondage.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 10am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 235 West Duffy Street in Norman, Oklahoma.

Memorial donations may be made to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation,  www.christopherreeve.org

Arrangements for Walker and his family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.

Online condolences may be shared at www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com
