Robert (Bob) Ramsey, 87, a lifelong resident of Bartlesville passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, after a short battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 31st at Bartlesville First Church with Pastor Tari Carbaugh officiating with a reception to follow. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.

Robert Clay Ramsey was born on February 18, 1930 at Memorial Hospital in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to William S. Ramsey and Emma C. (Speck) Ramsey. Robert was always proud of his namesake and Great Grandfather, Henry Clay (First Mayor of Bartlesville) and one of the founding fathers.
Robert completed all his schooling in Bartlesville. He held several jobs as a kid: delivering handbills for the local movie theaters, delivering newspapers on his bike, working at Superior Welding, truck driver delivering gas cylinders and working on the Bill Doenges Ranch. Robert graduated from Bartlesville College High School in 1947. He continued his schooling at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater, graduating with a degree in Animal Husbandry in 1954. Robert served 2 years in the United States Army at Fort Chaffee near Mansfield, Arkansas.
During his time at Oklahoma A&M he met Loretta C. Sanders and they were married on July 31, 1955 in her hometown of Goltry, Oklahoma. Following Robert's military service in Fort Chaffee, they returned to Bartlesville. Robert began working for Phillips Petroleum Company Research and Development in 1956 until his retirement 30 years later. They were lifelong members of the First United Methodist Church known now as Bartlesville First Church. They moved East of Bartlesville in 1960 to their farm where they still reside.
Robert volunteered thru the years with the Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Mutual Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Concern Center, Tuesday House, multiple Methodist church groups and projects, and various school functions of their children and grandchildren.
Robert helped others by sharing his vast knowledge in multiple areas. He loved being outside in his garden on the farm and especially enjoyed sharing his produce with friends, his doctors and local shelters/restaurants. Robert also enjoyed spending time camping, traveling and fishing.
Robert is survived by his wife, Loretta C. Ramsey. Children: son Bruce Ramsey and wife Kelly of Woodville, Texas, and daughter Karen Schmeling and husband Jeff of Bartlesville, OK. Grandchildren: Megan Freed and husband Josh of Beggs, OK. Allyson Glass and husband Nathan of Bartlesville, OK. Courtni Jarboe and husband Cody of Stillwater, OK. Caleb Schmeling of Bartlesville. Three great grandchildren: Melanie Glass, Shane Glass, and Jake Jarboe. Nephews: Patrick Ramsey, Mark Ramsey, Mike Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William S. Ramsey, Jr. and nephews William Ramsey, Jack Ramsey and a niece, Cindy Ramsey.
