Fred Dean Ramsey

Fred Dean Ramsey
October 19, 1965 ~ January 6, 2023

Fred was born October 19, 1965, in Gladewater, TX the son of Jim and Dorothy (Dean) Ramsey. He was a carpenter by trade and loved working with his hands. Fred could build anything. He loved to work, and he cherished the time he spent working at Gladney Lake. Fred also had a curiosity for how things functioned. He would study them, take them apart, and put them back together just to see how they worked. Fred spent a lot of his spare time riding motorcycles and strumming his guitar. You might also catch him watching an old John Wayne movie on the television, that is until a nerf war would break out in the house with the grandchildren. Fred was a storyteller and loved visiting with family and friends. He loved his dog named, “Dog” and loved his children and family beyond measure. He was such a caring and giving man that it was truly a fitting end when he chose to be an organ donor so that he could help someone else one final time.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Ramsey, Sr. and Dorothy Caroline Dean-Stofel. Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Steven Cavitt and special friend Brittany Banks of Thackerville and Cody Ramsey and wife Destany of Thackerville; a daughter, Natoshya Ramsey of Marietta; ten grandchildren, Atlantis Cavitt, Willow Cavitt, Lasha Cavitt, Lincoln Cavitt, Valley Cavitt, BlayDen Bates, Traelei Peake, Noah Ramsey, Emma Ramsey, and Exavior Ramsey; a special friend, Chasidy Bratcher of Thackerville; a brother, Gene Stofel of Ardmore; and a sister, Caroline Ramsey of Thackerville.

Honorary bearers are Gary Putnam, Amy Darnell, Denny Ray Hester, Johnny Gregory, Cody Green, and Jim Riley.
