Robert LeRoy Rainwater, 65, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on January 27, 2013.
Robert was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 18, 1947. He attended Putnam City Schools and enlisted for military service in 1966.
He was an MP with the 118th Airborne Corp before becoming jump qualified as a paratrooper. He served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division during the Tet Offensive earning two Purple Hearts for wounds sustained during battle. He proudly served with the Delta Raiders which had numerous Presidential Unit Citations as well as two Medal of Honor Recipients. Robert was a proud member of the Delta Raider Association where he served as the Raider Chaplain. Words can�t express the love and pride he felt for his God, Family and Country.
Robert was married to Christy Case on October 3, 1970. They were married 42 years.
He worked as a Pastor ordained through the Independent Church of God for ten years. He was influential in many other churches, civic councils and organizations over the past 30 years. He enjoyed reading, studying scripture, spending time with family and honoring fallen Delta Raiders.
Robert is survived by his wife, Christy Rainwater of the home, parents, Paul and Lorene Rainwater of Oklahoma City, sister, Marilyn Reiter of Conway, Arkansas, brother Paul Jr. and wife Marvena of Geary, Oklahoma, daughter Rachel Walker and her husband Nathan of Choctaw, Oklahoma, son, Robbie and his wife Lana of Guthrie, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Madison Walker, Hailey Jo Rainwater and Jace Rainwater, sister in-law, Sheila Henson and husband Jon of Paden, Oklahoma and brother in-law, Mike Case and wife Vicki of Prague, Okahoma as well as and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Robert is preceded in death by sister, Loretta Lamb and brother in-law, Charles Reiter.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Prague First Baptist Church. Brother Tim Emmons of Prague First Baptist Church will be officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 � 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague, Oklahoma.
Robert's final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery at a later scheduled date.
