Evelyn Jean Bussey Golay Rahn, age 80 went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in her home at Kaw Lake surrounded by her family. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in her honor. Cremation has been effected.
Evelyn was born in Ponca City, OK on January 11, 1938. She grew up attending the Nazarene Church in Ponca City and stayed active within the church through adulthood. She was the devoted and loving mother of 3 Children, 7 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, fishing, playing cards, bingo, hummingbirds, strawberries and spending time with her family. Family was everything to her, but she could always find ways to share her big heart with others. She had a passion for helping those around her and welcomed them with open arms. Evelyn did not know a stranger, she loved everyone she met, and she was everyone's "Aunt Evy" or "Meme".
Evelyn passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after losing her battle with Alzheimer's. She was known by her loved ones to be a brave, kind and bold yet gracious. Her family can now find comfort in knowing that she remembers each and every one of them.
She was preceded in death by her mother Inez Bengston Bussey, father George Bussey, baby sister Joann Bussey, two brothers Bill and Jim Bussey and a Granddaughter Nicole L. Golay.
She is survived by her oldest daughter and son-in-law Julie (Jeff) Woodard of Arkansas City, KS, Daughter and son-in-law Tammy (Craig) Campbell of Oklahoma City, OK, Son Rocky Golay (Stacy Wilson) of Ponca City, OK.
Grandchildren; Bandy Johnstone, Reitz (Ashley) Campbell, Kimberly (Walter) Schimmel all of Oklahoma City, OK, Brynn Nulik (Brittney) of Arkansas City, KS, Leigh (Mitch) Reiff of Norman, OK, Cassidy Campbell and fiancé Carson Cabaniss of Hinton, OK, Ross Wirtz of Perry, OK; Chris Coots, Todd Coots, and Michael Coots.
Great Grandchildren; Jackson and Jadyn Brammer, Cali and Tuesday Campbell, Oak and Grey Schimmel all of Oklahoma City, OK; Kayden Danielle, Bradon Smith, Kenzie Smith, Landon and Conner Boilling and Abbie Coots, and many nieces and nephews.
