Karen Sue (Watson) Rabon

Karen Sue (Watson) Rabon
February 16, 1951 ~ April 11, 2022

Karen Sue Watson Rabon was born February 16, 1951 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Dale and Lucille (Wait) Watson and passed away April 11, 2022 in Shattuck, Oklahoma.

Karen attended schools in Curtis and Mooreland and graduated from Mooreland in 1969. She attended college at Okmulgee before marrying Warren Penick "Penny" Rabon on August 7, 1969 in Gainesville, Texas.

Penny and Karen were blessed with three children; Brian Warren, Heather Lynd, and Brandon Dale. Karen was a devoted wife and mother. Penny was a drilling superintendent and spent most of his time away. Karen took care of her children and waited patiently for her husband to come home. Karen coached basketball for years for her daughter. She took her children to track, football, baseball, band, softball, basketball, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and swimming, and was her children's biggest fan. Karen sewed beautifully, crocheted, embroidered, crafted, and kept a beautiful home, she was an electrician, carpenter, and mechanic. She could fix nearly anything or craft something beautiful.

Karen took in every child who needed a home. She raised a dozen children as her own and could always be counted on to be there for anyone who needed her.

Penny and Karen owned and operated Northwest Consulting together in the 1990s and owned a farm in Dewey County. On October 26, 1990 Penny and Karen lost their beloved son Brandon Dale Rabon. Penny passed away in 2003. Karen had a stroke in 2010 and has spent the past 12 years as a resident of Shattuck Nursing Center. She was very loved amongst the staff and formed many very close relationships with other residents and staff. Karen enjoyed day trips away from the center with her daughter and granddaughter. She loved to craft and join in on activities at the center. On April 13, 2018 Karen lost her only other son Brian Warren Rabon.

Karen was very loved and will be enormously missed by her family and friends.

Karen is survived by her daughter and husband Heather and Dennis Crossland, granddaughter Sydney Crossland and Lana, and grandson Jacob Crossland and Erica.

Also surviving are her sister Lynda Williams, brothers Monte Watson and Laurie and Gary Watson and Cindy. Nephews Cody Watson and Heather, Jeremy Williams, Justin Williams, and niece Selena Stasyszen. Her best friend Debbie Hill and caregivers Angela Loomis and Halley Goodner. Staff at Shattuck Nursing Center Jennifer Hill, Pat Brosh, GlenNell Kuhlman, Morgan Holley, Cindy Kies, Jessica Arnett, Jody Dykes, Cesar Ocampo, and the rest of the staff.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Lucille Watson, son Brandon Dale Rabon, husband Warren Penick Rabon, and son Brian Warren Rabon.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Woof Pet Rescue in honor of Karen. She had a lifelong love of animals. Thank you to Daniel at Humanity Hospice for his love and care.
