ENID, Okla. - Memorial service for Cecil William Quier, 79, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel.
Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Cecil was born to Roy William and Addie (Clark) Quier on Sept. 6, 1934, in Covington and passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, in Enid.
Cecil grew up in the Covington-Garber oil field.
He served with the U.S. Navy on the USS Carpenter during the Korean War.
Cecil married Wanda Jean Layton Oct. 24, 1963, in Garber.
Cecil worked in the oil field. He was a lifetime member of NRA, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and bowling. He was a gunsmith, custom knife maker, storyteller and excellent marksman.
Cecil and Wanda have lived in the Enid area for the last 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home; children, John Quier and wife Maya of Enid, and Tina Tibbets of Oak Grove, Ark.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Robert Quier and wife Patsy of Lindsey; and sister, Nina Mae Barnes of Tulsa.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Addie Quier; daughter, Lorre Rae Quier; and great-granddaughter, Emily Pearson.
Memorials may be made to OMRF, diabetes division.
