Matthew Allen Queen

Matthew Allen Queen
June 3, 1992 ~ December 3, 2018

Matthew Allen Queen, Tator to those who are close to him, left his Earthly home December 3rd, 2018 at his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Matt was born to Troy and Jerri (Leatherman) Queen on June 3rd, 1992 in Liberal, Kansas. He was raised and attended school in Liberal until his family moved to Ponca City in 2000 where he attended Lincoln Elementary, West Middle School, and Wildcat Academy. He met and married, Sherry Sierman and became a daddy for the first time to Anthony followed by Blaze. In November of 2018 he and Brooklynn Rhea welcomed their daughter Emersyn. Matt's greatest love was for his children and his eyes and smile would light up the room when he was with them.

Matt cherished his family. Loyalty and respect were very important to Matt and for those he felt deserved it would have the best and most loyal friend they could find. Since he was born Matt has left an everlasting mark on all he has met. He was stubborn, never backed down from a challenge and would push with everything he had to get the upper hand. He was a little guy with a big heart and those that were able to touch it were truly blessed. Matt had a fun sense of humor, a mischievous smile, soft spoken tone, serious and intense stare, and a devoted love for those that were closest to him. Matt always stood strong in what he believed was right and you could find him standing right next to you when the time came down to it.

Matt is survived and will be missed sorely by: his dad, Troy Queen, of Ponca City; his wife Sherry Queen, of Ponca City; children, Anthony, Blaze, and Emersyn of Ponca city; brothers: Brandon Queen, Derek Queen, and Michael and Laurie Queen; and sis, Tasha and Gabe Smith all of Ponca City. Grandparents; Dwight and Sue Leatherman of Ponca City; Carol and Ralph Frazee of Ulysses, KS; Aunts Brenda and John Taylor of Ponca City, Ok, Catrina Leatherman of McLoud, Ok, and Nancy and Waylon Dewitt of Midland, TX; stepmom Laura Queen and her children that Matt considered his siblings Jeremiah, Nathaniel, and Abby Seward; as well as Emersyn's mother, Brooklynn Rhea of Ponca City. Matt has an extended family consisting of multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as friends that he considered family as well.

Welcoming him into the Gates of Heaven with open arms was his mother, Jerri Dawn Leatherman. Others waiting in line to embrace him include his paternal grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

Services will be held Saturday, December 15th at 2pm at First Church of the Nazarene, 1900 W Grand, Ponca City, OK.
