Contessa Michelle (Baxter) Quarles
August 23, 1973 ~ December 20, 2025

Contessa Michelle Quarles was bon on August 23, 1973, in Longview, Texas to parents Joe and Mary Jo (Hornbeck) Baxter. Michelle passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at her home in Calera at the age of 52. Michelle came to Bryan County from Longview and was married to James Deon Quarles. They married on September 25, 1993, in Denison, Texas and they were parents to 4 sons. She was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, and she enjoyed reading, chickens, crafts and she treasured the time that she spent with her family.

Michelle is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, James Deon Quarles of the home; sons Lawson Ryan Quarles of Calera, Landry Rylan Quarles of Calera, Cameron Ryan Quarles and wife Sarah Ruth of Bokchito, and Matthew Leon Quarles and wife Hailee of Bokchito and numerous extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Derek Bowen, Dustin Bowen, Dennis Bowen, Chris Avants, Perry Avants, and Paul DaVault. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
