Frank Auvin Pyles
October 28, 1953 ~ April 22, 2026

Frank Auvin Pyles passed from this life on April 22, 2026, at the age of 72, at his home in Hominy, Oklahoma, with his family by his side.

Frank was born on October 28, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Samuel and Frances Margaret (Choate) Pyles. Frank grew up and attended school in Tulsa at Pershing, Roosevelt, and Tulsa Central. After completing his education, Frank joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, serving at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, Texas. Following his discharge, Frank returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He gained employment at a local gas station and also worked with his father-in-law, Corby Myers, as a handyman and mason before joining the United States Postal Service. On June 2, 1979, Frank was united in marriage to Debra Kay Parker in Miami, Oklahoma. They established their initial home in Tulsa before moving to their current home in 1989. Frank worked at the downtown sorting facility until its closure, then transferred to the Tulsa Processing and Distribution Facility, retiring in 2018 after 44 years.

Frank always enjoyed being outdoors. He and Debra took many trips hiking and backpacking in Colorado. He and Debra also took many trips to Las Vegas and hiked Long's Peak in Estes Park. Frank also spent lots of time hunting in Kinta, Oklahoma.

Survivors are his son, Sam Pyles, and his wife, Katlyn, of Hominy, Oklahoma; two sisters, Saundra Gleckler and her husband, Jim, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Sarah Kimball and her husband, Roger, of Skandia, Michigan; one grandson, Tyler; and a host of other relatives and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Pyles, and his parents, Sam and Frances Pyles.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Dusty Giles officiating. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
