Memorial services for Bobby Roy Pybas, 86, of Wanette, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Allen Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Buddy Drake will officiate.
Mr. Pybas passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his home. He was born January 20, 1931 at Shawnee to Jess and Iva Monkres Pybas.
He married Betty Powell March 29, 1958. Mr. Pybas was a heavy equipment operator with Pottawatomie County District #2, retiring after 20 plus years of service. He also worked in the oil field all of his adult life. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed watching his grandkids in sports, pumping oil wells and feeding stray animals.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; three sons, Steve Pybas and wife Kim of Ringling, Kevin Pybas and wife Courtney of Springfield, MO and Phil Pybas of Wanette; two daughters, Janis Kiser of Sulphur and Lisa Peay and husband Doug of Allen; three sisters, Maxine Cupp and husband Ted, Aumsville, OR, Nancy Klarr and husband Dean, Salem, OR and Cleta Cheatwood, Lawton; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Rozella Powell, Edmond; 12 grandchildren, Tyler Pybas and his wife Jessica and Taylor Pybas, Brit and Lane Pybas, Aaron and Ryan Pybas and their mother, Sandy Mosley, Ty and Trey Kiser, T. J. Herndon and B. J. Lucy, and Jensen and Emma Peay; four great-grandchildren, Weston Pybas, Jaci Lucy, Sam and Sophia Sedeh; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Bill, and brothers, Gordon, Chuck and Don; a sister, Betty Ruth; and a son-in-law, Tooter Kiser.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or your local animal shelter.
