Memorial service for Murl Donald Pugh, age 79, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at later date.
Murl was born the son of Murl Pugh and Lucille Vaught Pugh on February 15, 1929, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He died on September 3, 2008, in Chickasha.
Murl served his country in the United States Army during the Korean war.
After leaving the military, Murl met and married his beloved wife of 57 years, Nellie McCanlas.
Murl enjoyed being with people, especially the love of his life his wife, Nellie, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He enjoyed sharing stories of flying, model airplanes, and truck driving.
Survivors include:Wife: Nellie Pugh of the home, Daughter and Husband: Teresa Murl and Rex Payne of Chickasha, Son and Wife: William "Bill" and Shirley Pugh of Verden, Son and Wife: John and Wanda Pugh of Washita, Son: Charles Andrew Pugh of the home, Thirteen Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren, Sister and Brother-in-law: Charlotte and Ray Platt of Fort Cobb, Aunt: Ethel Pugh of Oklahoma City, Aunt: Loraine Axton of Fairfax, Brother-in-law: L. J. McCanlas of Albany, Oregon, Brother-in-law: Orvill McCanlas of Washita, Brother-in-law: Marvin McCanlas of Carnegie, Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
