Charles Michael “Mike” Pugh
May 10, 1935 ~ December 29, 2010 (age 75)

Charles Michael “Mike” Pugh, age 75, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in Denison, Texas. Mr. Pugh was born the son of Gilbert and Georgia (Stephens) Pugh on May 10, 1935 in Bethany, Oklahoma.

Mike graduated from Putnam City High School in 1953. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army during the occupation of Germany after WWII.

He received a B. S. degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and obtained a Masters of Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma. His career took him to several locales, including the State of Oklahoma, Charleston, SC and St. Joseph, MO, but the bulk of his career was spent working for the City of Oklahoma City where he rose to the post of Director of Community Development.

Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a mentor to many and inspired loyalty and devotion in those who knew him.

Mr. Pugh was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Mann, sister Francis Carelli, and brothers Barney and Bob Pugh.

He survived by his beloved wife, Kaye Pugh of Denison, Texas; daughter, Cheryl Magnus and husband David of El Reno, Oklahoma; son, Greg Pugh and wife Jolly of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter, Lori Culwell  and husband Craig of Norman, Oklahoma; son, Sean Walkup and wife Beki of Edwardsville, Illinois; daughter, Angela Armstrong and husband Keith of Bedford, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Mr. Pugh was cremated according to his wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. January 3, 2011 in the Chapel of  Havenbrook Funeral Home, Norman, Oklahoma under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
