Robert Leroy Pritchard

Robert Leroy Pritchard
October 3, 1948 ~ July 17, 2021 (age 72)

Robert Leroy Pritchard was born October 3, 1948 to Gus Onvy Pritchard and Mary Thresa (Miller) Pritchard and passed away July 17, 2021. Robert was born just northeast of Carney, grew up in Carney, Attended Carney Schools and met Polly Sue Alford in the first grade. They attended Carney school together and were married on April 22, 1966. Their daughters, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren are students at Carney school. Except for the two years that Robert and Polly were team drivers for a large trucking company, Robert lived his entire life in and around Carney. He loves his Jesus and never missed a chance to talk about Him to anyone that would listen.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Hazel Smith, Almeda Lee, Naomi Bell, Susie Marshall, Rozetta Nettles, and Phyllis Morris; one brother, Everett Pritchard; and a grandson, Rodney Cole Kennedy. He is survived by his wife Polly of the home; three daughters, Tereasa Susanne Pritchard of the home; Tanya Elaine Kennedy (YaYa) and her husband James of Carney, Summer Elaine Spillman of Edmond, and Thresa Hope Kennedy of Carney; great-grandsons, Benjamin Gus, Luke Tyler, and Case Dale Kennedy; great-granddaughter, Jenna Lee Kennedy; brother, Gus Pritchard, Jr. of Mesquite, TX; several special nieces, nephews, and a special daughter, Barbara Alen Castro of Brazil.

Robert was Poppy and Grandpa Robert to many in the Carney community. He spent countless hours in his home church, Carney Assembly of God, praying for his family and friends. He was blessed by a multitude of loyal friends. Robert loved hunting, fishing, and watching boxing, especially if his bonus grandson, Bo Gibbs, Jr. was in the ring. Giving his grandchildren rides on the lawnmower, talking to his grandsons about fishing, talking to his buddies about the good old days and spending time with his family was his favorite thing to do. Robert never missed a chance to tell you how much he loved Jesus and would always say, “I sure do love ya”.

We can rest assured when he left his earthly home, he arrived at his eternal resting place to open arms, joyous reunions and knowing he was loved by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at Carney First Assembly of God on Monday, July 26th at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
