Opal Lenora (Crank) Price

Opal Lenora (Crank) Price
January 3, 1930 - September 27, 2020

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to the matriarch of our family, Opal Lenora Price, who passed away on September 27, 2020, in Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Opal was born on January 3, 1930, in Ralston, Oklahoma, the daughter of Edwin Lester and Lena Viola Crank. As the daughter of a railroad section foreman, Opal lived in several locations before finally settling in Glencoe, Oklahoma, where she received her schooling and met the love of her life, Stephen F. (“Stevy”) Price. Growing up, Opal was athletically gifted as an accomplished tap dancer and the star point guard of her high school basketball team. After Steve, her high school sweetheart, returned from service in the Air Force, they married on July 31, 1952. Steve and Opal recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary! They then started the next chapter of their lives – raising their new family and living in several locations in Texas and New Mexico, where Steve was employed with Mobil Oil Company.

Though short in stature, Opal had a giant spirit, and was always a ball of energy. She loved square dancing, jigsaw puzzles, ice cream, and shared Steve’s love for the road - traveling at every opportunity via car, motorcycle, and RV to all of the 48 continental states. Her experiences could easily fill a book. Opal was an active member of the Glencoe United Methodist Church, and greatly looked forward every year to helping organize the New Year Dinner. Her other love was her family, being a mom to two beautiful daughters, Deborah Ann and Terrie Diane, and later as a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters (Effie Crank and Marcelea Kincaid), and her daughter (Terrie Hayes). She is survived by her husband (Steve Price), her daughter (Deborah Weissling), five grandchildren (Stephen Weissling, Michael Weissling, Lara Monte, Allison Sanzon, and Tyler Hayes), and ten great-grandchildren (Seth, Owen, Lukas, Max, Oliver, Penny, Cecilia, Marcos, Rylan, and Arya).

No one could have lived a fuller life or left a richer legacy. She’ll always live in our hearts, never forgotten.
A memorial will be held at a later date.

Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.dightonmarler.com.

There are no events scheduled.
