Jerry Wayne Price, affectionately known as "POPS," passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the age of 75. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa, leaving behind cherished memories with his family and friends.
Jerry was born on July 5, 1948, in Norman, Oklahoma, to General Frost “Buss” Price and Lillie Maudina (Garrison) Price. He spent his early years in Dibble, where he had the good fortune of meeting the love of his life, Marcia Mae Snowden. On August 28, 1971, they joined their lives in marriage in Norman, Oklahoma, and made their home in Cole, Oklahoma.
Jerry was a dedicated heavy equipment operator and truck driver, serving faithfully at Butler Brothers for over 40 years. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, with a particular passion for striper fishing and, most importantly, spending quality time with his grandchildren, where his love and wisdom were cherished.
His infectious sense of humor was a gift he shared generously, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. Jerry was also a fervent fan of the Sooners, never missing a game. On those Saturdays when the Sooners were playing, his enthusiasm was unmatched, and you wouldn't want to visit if they happened to lose.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Buss and Lilly Price, as well as his brothers, Carl and Jim Price.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Marcia Price of Cole, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his two sons, Danny Price and his wife Amy Price of Blanchard, and Tracy Price of Cole. Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love through his cherished grandchildren, Megan Price, Jared Price, and Samantha Price.
In addition to his immediate family, Jerry is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends who will forever remember his warmth and humor.
Jerry Wayne Price's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, but the memories of his laughter, love, and unwavering Sooners spirit will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who were blessed to have known him.
A private family memorial service is planned for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
