John Henry Price

John Henry Price
Jan. 5, 1928 ~ Dec. 28, 2013

John Henry Price, 85, of Enid, Okla., went to be with Jesus on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was ready to go to Heaven to be with his family, whom he loved so much. John was the last one to leave earth and meet his family. John was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Calamine, Ark., to Edgar and Bertha Taylor Price. He entered the U.S. Army at the age of 18 and served in the Philippines at the end of WWII and was discharged in 1947, in Seattle, Wash. On Nov. 9, 1953, John married Bonnie Rowland in Paragould, Ark. He was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1961, which he faithfully did for over 46 years. In 1961, John began his ministry as a song evangelist and later moved to Ozark, Ark.

He moved to Russel Chapel in Cabot, Ark., and later to Fort Smith, Ark., to pastor Southside Church of the Nazarene. John then entered the field of evangelism for about five years and received a call to pastor a church in Van Buren, Ark. He was called back to the Southside church, where he retired in 2006.

John served on the North Arkansas District 46 years. He held many revivals in many states and won many people to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is in Heaven today with his family rejoicing. The circle is unbroken.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the home; son, Dr. John Stephen Price and wife Lori; two grandchildren, Josh and Julie; three great-grandchildren, Whitney, Cade and Ryder; a sister-in-law, Lucille Price; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

John was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Visitation and viewing will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid. A celebration service will be in Fort Smith, Ark., on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love.
