Grove - Archie E. Price, Jr. 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 1, 2025.
Archie was born November 20, 1928, to Archie Sr. and Ruth (Gilleland) Price in Hutchinson, Ks. After high school, Archie joined the Army Air Corp. in 1944. He worked in research and development on the P51 Mustang. After proudly serving his country, he moved to Wichita, Ks where he met his lovely bride, Donna M. Shafer. They were married Sept. 13th, 1952. They raised two children, Everett and LaDonna. After he retired in 1987 from McLean Trucking, he and Donna moved to Grove, OK. He enjoyed endless hours of fishing, square dancing, golfing and tinkering in his garage.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Archie Sr., Ruth and Mark Ivins, wife Donna (Shafer), brothers Leon, Clifford, and Jerry and sister Estelleen Maxwell.
Survivors include his children Everett (Michelle) Price, LaDonna (Dave) Dunagan, grandson Chad (Kati) Price, great grandchildren Tatum and Chad Jr, brothers Larry and Ron (Carol) Price. and many extended family and friends whom he loved dearly.
He will truly be missed. Do to the weather a celebration of his life will now be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at Church on the Hill, 1005 Leisure Rd. Grove, OK 74344. The service will also be streamed live via the church’s Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Church on the Hill Care Ministries in Archie’s memory. We are forever thankful for everyone’s prayers and support.
