Mark Eugene Preston passed away on August 20, 2019 at the age of 56 in Ponca City. Mark was born on January 15th, 1963 to Trout Luther and Peggy Jean (Maloney) Preston in Ponca City. He spent his entire life here in the Ponca City area, graduating from PoHi in ’81. In 1986 he received his BBA in Computer Science from Central State University.
In 2016 Mark met and married his soul mate, Kim Ba Nguyen, in Vietnam. Their story was one fairytales are based on. It was love at first sight for them both, shortly after meeting they were married. They are expecting their baby girl due next month, September 7th. Kim Ba plans to name their baby May, which is the name that Mark liked best.
Although Mark had his degree in computer science he has been working as a delivery driver for Wheatheart Nutrition for the last few years. He found great reward in being able to help others even in this small way. During Mark’s down time he enjoyed Oklahoma sports, both OU and OSU, but OU was always his favorite. He also enjoyed playing table games at the casino’s, mainly Blackjack and Craps.
Mark leaves behind his wife; Kim Ba Nguyen and soon to be born baby girl May Nguyen Preston of Vietnam, Brothers; Michael Anthony Preston and Paul Devin Preston, two niece’s he shared a special bond with; Briana and Sara, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Peggy and Trout Preston, brother; Robert John Preston, and sister; Teresa Ann Preston.
Visitation will be held for Mark from 11:00am to 4:30pm on Wednessday, September 4th at Grace Memorial Chapel. 2016 N 14th St, Ponca City.
