Edna NaDean (Jones) Prather

Edna NaDean Prather, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home on May 21, 2018, with her husband of 66 years by her side. She was born September 6, 1932 in Bartlesville, OK, to Louis Bud "Snooks" Jones and Emelene (Whiles) Jones.

NaDean, called "Sister," by family and friends was raised on a ranch 3 miles outside of Bartlesville, OK. She attended the rural school of Butler Creek for elementary and graduated 8th grade from St. John Catholic School in 1947. She graduated from College High School in Bartlesville. In 1951, she married George Henry Prather in Bentonville, AR, and they made their home in Bartlesville, OK. To this union, three children were born: John Prather, Cynthia Roberts, and Joy Galloway. Edna worked as a draftsman for Cities Service, then Phillips Petroleum Company. Upon retirement in 1979, she and her husband built their home in the country and raised cattle and horses. NaDean was a proud member of the Osage and Cherokee tribes and a lifetime member of the Bartlesville Round-Up Club. She had a love of hobbies, a few of which included writing and drawing, painting, and raising birds.

NaDean is preceded in death by her parents Louis Bud "Snooks" Jones and Emelene Jones, a brother Elmer Jones and a sister Joy Buttman, of Bartlesville, OK.

NaDean is survived by her husband, Henry, of the home, and their children John Prather, Cynthia Roberts, and Joy Galloway, all of Bartlesville; grandchildren Nikki (Mike) Young of Bartlesville, Kris Galloway-Perry of Bartlesville, David Roberts, M.D. (Laurissa) of Nashville, TN, and Michelle Roberts of Chicago, IL; great-grandchildren Gracie Galloway-Perry, Collin Young, Cooper Young, Grayson Galloway-Tatum, and Reece Young, Bartlesville; nieces, Tina Venn, Terri Summers, and Tammy Falleaf, Bartlesville. She will also be remembered by many great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be on Friday, May 25th at 1:00 pm at the family homestead cemetery, located 3 miles outside of Bartlesville, OK, on Hudson Lake Rd.
