Walter Howard Powell was born on December 5, 1933, in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Vernon Howard Powell and Lena Powell. Walter grew up in the Wynona area with his two sisters Patricia and Minnie. He attended school in Wynona where he graduated in 1952. He joined the United States Army and served proudly.
Walter became a truck driver and raised his five children. He loved his guns and being a gun smith. Walter loved the New York Yankees and Oklahoma University Football. He loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved his country music.
Walter Howard Powell, 90, passed from this life on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Pawhuska Hospital.
Walter Powell is survived by his son Clinton (Rebecca) Powell; two daughters Jo Ann (Kenny) Pitts and Lafaun Owens; thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Lena Powell; his son Larry Powell; his daughter Diana Gregory; two sisters Patricia Chapman and Minnie Powell.
