William Charles "Bill" Powell
July 4, 1945 ~ March 5, 2025

William C. Powell (Bill) passed away March 5, 2025 at home surrounded by his beloved family. Bill was born July 4, 1945 in Independence, KS. The son of John J. and Ladene Powell. Bill attended Dewey Public Schools and joined the armed forces, completing basic training in Fort Polk, LA. Bill married Rebbecca (Sandy) Cullum in 1964 and they made their home in Dewey, OK. Bill retired from the Bartlesville Fire Department and Jane Phillips Hospital and he and his wife moved to Wann, OK.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa and brother. Among his many jobs, he was a cattle rancher, loved to hunt and fish in his limited spare time and spend time with his family. Extremely proud of his service to our country, he was a true patriot and loved to tell people that he was born on the 4th of July.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Ladene Powell and brother Tommy Powell of Dewey, OK.

Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rebbecca (Sandy), his four adult Children, Betty Lou and husband Mualdo delaCruz of Independence, KS, William (Bill) and wife Tracey of Wann, OK, Carolyn Powell of Wann, OK, and Rebbecca (Becky) Dye and husband Ike of Caney, KS. Brother, Johnny and wife Sue of Durant, OK, brother Bob and wife Gwen of Bartlesville, OK, sister Marilyn (Sis) Gabriel of Neosho, MO, sister-in-law Trudy Powell of Dewey, OK.,and sister-in-law Shirley and husband Randy McDaniel of Vinita, OK. Numerous nieces and nephews.

His loved grandchildren include Brandon MacRae of Moline, KS, Kai (Bret) Rannells of Bartlesville, OK, Coty Cullum of Independence, KS, Stormi Lukens (Andrew Patterson) of McAlester, OK, Clayton (Lacee) Powell, Ocheleta, OK, Beck (Allie) Dye, Bartlesville, OK, MacKinsey MacRae, Wichita, KS, Lydia (Bobbie) Stanley, Dewey, OK, Colton (Makala) Powell, Wann, OK, Jacobe Dye, Independence, KS, Hannah Powell (Jordan), Wann, OK, Adriel delaCruz, Pittsburg, KS, and Adrienne Lukens, Caney, KS.

Great Grandchildren include Lucas Rannels, Laila Rannells, Lilly Patterson, Weston Powell, Ryeder Murdock, Lincoln Rannells, and Baker Stanley.
