MARLIN LEE POWELL SR, AGE 61, ATOKA RESIDENT.

BORN:    JULY 23, 1934 AT ATOKA, OK TO MELVIN LUTHER AND VIOLET (McDANIEL) POWELL. PASSED AWAY:   SUNDAY, AUGUST 6, 1995 AT HIS ATOKA RESIDENCE.

AGE:     61  YEARS   0  MONTHS  AND  13 DAYS.

MARRIED:     CAROLYN LORENE DUNN ON APRIL 4, 1959 AT HOBBS, NM.

OCCUPATION:    MARLIN WAS A ROOFER WHILE LIVING AT HOBBS, NM.  AFTER RETURNING TO ATOKA IN 1959, HE WAS A GUARD AT McALESTER AND STRINGTOWN CORRECTIONAL CENTERS FOR 7 YEARS. HE WAS ALSO EMPLOYED AT STRINGTOWN ROCK CRUSHER FOR 4 YEARS AND DID CUSTOM HAY BALING FOR SEVERAL YEARS AS WELL AS A CATTLE RANCHER.

CHURCH AFFILIATION:  JEHOVAHS WITNESS FAITH.

MARLIN SERVED HIS COUNTRY IN THE U. S. ARMY, AFTER ENLISITNG IN 1956. FOR 3 YEARS ACTIVE DUTY AND 2 YEARS RESERVE.  HE WAS A MECHANIC AND MARKSMAN.

WIFE:  CAROLYN Powell OF THE HOME.
SONS:    MARLIN POWELL, JR. AND WIFE DONNA OF McALESTER, OK.
               MICHAEL POWELL AND WIFE DEANNA OF McALESTER, OK.

DAUGHTERS:   MALAURA HALL AND HUSBAND MICHALE OF McALESTER, OK.
                             MARENDA POWELL OF McALESTER, OK.

GRANDCHILDREN:   SHANNON TURNER, LANDON AND SUMMER HALL.
                                         ABBIGAIL POWELL AND CINDY GARRISON.

BROTHERS:    LINVEL POWELL OF ASHLAND, OK.
                           ODELL POWELL OF COALGATE, OK.
                           ROLAND POWELL OF LEHIGH, OK.
                           KENNETH POWELL OF ASHLAND, OK.
