Leroy Powell passed away on April 23, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born on July 20, 1936, in Wilburton, Oklahoma to Donnie H. Powell and Nellie Powell.
After graduating high school, Leroy worked for the Federal Aviation administration, his last position was Sector Manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Leroy was married Christine Lucas until her death November 7, 1997. Leroy is married to Constance Wheatly-Powell. He loved to go fishing and hunting.
Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Donnie H. Powell; mother, Nellie (Wade) Powell; bothers Donald Powell and Lonnie Gene Powell; and the mother of his children, Christine Powell.
Leroy is survived by his wife Constance Wheatly-Powell, Leroy's son Rick Powell, Leroy's daughter and families Rhonda Mahaffey, sister, Sherry and husband Gordan Dawson, grandson Sean Mahaffey, grandchildren Lumen and Banks, Constance's daughter and families, Victoria Blake Ragsdell, grandchildren: Haley, Benjamin & William, Constance's daughter and families Lori & Tim McDowell, grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca, great grandchildren Natalie, Amelia, Drew and Erika, Constance's daughter and families Sheri & Gary Osborn, grandchildren, Andrew, Cara and Samantha, great grandchildren, Hazel, Ellison, Arthur and Charlotte.
The memorial service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 10:00 am at reNEW Church, 1611 N. Osage, Dewey, Oklahoma.
