Gary L. Powell
April 16, 1942 ~ July 11, 2022 (age 80)

Gary L. Powell, 80, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at his home.

He was born April 16, 1942 to Lee and Edith (Sickler) Powell at the old ACH Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Gary worked for the City of Tecumseh until his retirement. He also worked at Sunny Side Up in Shawnee as a cook and dishwasher and mowed lawns.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Stewart; his father, Lee Edward Powell; sister, Frances Jones; and 2 brothers, Bud Powell and Don Powell.

Survivors include his 2 nieces and caregivers, Janet Keever of Stroud, OK and Joyce Jones of Shawnee, OK; special friends, Glenda Brown and her sons; 3 sisters, Mary Fisher of Ponca City, OK, Bonnie Neman and Bobby Lyons; several nieces and nephews; and his little dog, Milo.

The family would like to thank St. Anthony Shawnee ER, along with 2nd and 3rd floor Doctors and Nurses for all their compassion and care given to Gary.

Family will hold private memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. There will be no viewing.
