The celebration of life for Clifford "Gene" Powell is 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, in Simpson's Old Time Museum under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral home.

Gene is available for viewing all week 8 a.m.-8 p.m. There is a family visitation 4-7 p.m. this evening, March 30, 2018, in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel.

Gene was born June 13, 1933, in Enid to Clifford Clayton and Dorothy Jean (Glaser) Powell and died March 26, 2018.

He attended local Enid schools and graduated from Billings High School with the class of 1952.

On November 29, 1957, he married Joyce Long in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple lived in Enid until moving to the farm in rural Perry in 1972. In April 1958, Gene went to work with Sears as an auto mechanic, where he remained until his retirement in 1995.

He was a farmer his entire life and raised cattle. He was very mechanically inclined and kept up his technical abilities through the years. In his retirement, he enjoyed his antique tractors, big and small, family, and traveling.

He was a member of Bible Baptist Church since the early 1960's. He was a member of the Noble County Antique Tractor Club, the Central Oklahoma Tractor Club, and the National Massey-Harris Tractor Club. He and Joyce loved to travel to antique tractor shows all over the country and Europe.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home; son, Clifford Gene "Butch" Powell Jr. of Crescent, and daughter Samantha Glaser and husband, Randy of Enid; five granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to OMRF, Alzheimer's Division.

Condolences may be made to the family online at www.EnidWeCare.com.
