Carl Grant Pouland, Sr., age 72, longtime resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma went to be with Jesus, February 4, 2021. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601. The family will celebrate his life at a private celebration at a later date.
Carl was born on December 11, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Jack and Florene (Knapik) Pouland. Carl was the oldest of three boys and always took special care of his younger brothers growing up. In his youth, Carl enjoyed many sports including basketball, football and baseball; in which he excelled, pitching a no-hitter in his senior year. He was an avid outdoorsman and could tell hunting and fishing tales with the best of them. Carl graduated in 1966 from Enid Memorial High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas in 1970. After graduation, he began his lifelong career at Conoco/Phillips from which he retired in 2000. Carl was also a veteran of the Oklahoma National Guard.
Survivors include: his children Carl Grant Pouland, Jr. and his wife, Melanie; Lynn Swenson and her husband, Chris; Tim Pouland; Tiffany Myers; grandchildren, Garrett Pouland, Karsen Pouland, Jacob Swenson, Jack Swenson, Jimmy Swenson, Tristan Myers, Haley Myers, Blake Myers, Michael Pouland; brother, Kenny Pouland and his wife, Ruegena of Tulsa; and companion, Dana Campbell.
Preceding him in death were his loving parents, Jack and Flo Pouland and his youngest brother, Farley.
