Fred Ronald Potter passed away in the comfort of his home Saturday August 4th in Bartlesville OK. He was born January 18th, 1949 to Carroll and Thelma (Hacker) Potter in Bartlesville. He graduated from Bartlesville’s College High in 1966. He went on to play baseball for Oklahoma State University before entering the Army in 1967 in the 82nd Airborne. Upon completion of his service he returned to Bartlesville where he worked for Phillips Petroleum Company as a Sr Purchasing Manager, then MCI Worldcom, before retiring in 2005.
Fred loved anything that went fast. This included his boats, dune buggies, drag cars and even his race horses.
He was always on the go whether it be hauling his daughters from rodeo to rodeo every weekend, to cruising the country on various Hot Rod Power Tours in his many show cars.
He loved music, art and all of God’s creatures. Fred had an amazing way with training animals from dogs to horses.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, DJ (Parker) Potter, daughter Renee (Potter)Johnson and husband Steven of Bartlesville, OK, daughter Chelsea Potter of Manhattan, New York, brothers Bruce Potter of Bartlesville and Bill Potter of Bartlesville. He has one grandson, Teagan Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrol Potter and Thelma Louise (Hacker) Potter.
