Carroll C. Potter age 88 of Oklahoma City, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at his home. He was born May 3, 1929 in Purcell, Oklahoma. He was the 2nd of seven children born to parents William Marion Potter and Iva Jo (Bivens) Potter.

Carroll grew up east of Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1947. After high school he proudly served as a Staff Sargent in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On January 7, 1952 in Del City, OK he married the love of his life, Essie Corraine Harless. They made their home in OKC and together raised four children. Carroll worked as a barber for over 55 years and was owner of Carroll's Barber Shop for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, visiting Panama City Beach, the Smokey Mountains and playing dominoes. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, 4 Sisters, Marilyn Hanger, Louise Greenwood, Mary Ann Griffin, Amy Michaels; Grandson, Jeffrey Monroe;

He is survived by: Wife of 65 years, Essie Potter of the home in OKC; Four children, Maggye Arnold and husband Tom of Blanchard, Marlin Potter and wife Sherry of OKC, Lonnie Potter and wife Brenda of Blanchard, Brenda Monroe and husband Michael of Norman; One sister, Arline Hopkins of MO; One brother, Jerry Potter and wife Dorothy of Purcell 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter Also several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, from 11:00am-1:00 pm at his home, at 304 SW 62nd street in south OKC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
