Memorial services for Timothy Blair Porter, 51, of Artesia N. M., formerly of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2003, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.
Timothy Blair Porter was born Dec. 4, 1951, Calgary, Canada, and died on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, as a result of a car accident in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Memorial services for Timothy Blair Porter, 51, of Artesia, New Mexico, formerly of Chickasha, will be held Monday, July 28, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Layman officiating.
Tim was born December 4, 1951, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the son of David Blann Porter and Maxine Elaine Lanz Porter. He died July 23, 2003, in Wichita Falls, Texas, as a result of an automobile accident.
Tim attended high school in Regina, Saskatschewan, Canada, where he graduated in 1969. He went on to receive his degree in marketing from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary in 1974. He worked in the marketing department of Gulf Oil of Canada and traveled extensively throughout Canada.
He moved to Oklahoma in 1977 where he met and married Lisa Baker. They made their home in Chickasha for twenty years, where they reared their two children, Kiley and Blair Porter. Tim was transferred to Artesia, New Mexico, in 1999, with Newpark Drilling Fluids, where he was currently employed.
Tim was a devoted father and husband who spent every possible minute with his family. He also loved kidding around with his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Porter.
Survivors include his loving wife Lisa Porter, of the home; one daughter, Kiley Porter, of Lubbock, Texas; one son: Blair Porter, Artesia, New Mexico; his mother: Maxine Porter of Guthrie, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law: Tony and Marsha Porter of El Reno, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law, Tracey and Guy Walden of Guthrie, Oklahoma; his father and mother-in-law, Milton and Elaine Baker of Houston, Texas; several aunts, uncles, cousins. Nieces,and nephews, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tim's honor to the following institution: Rathgeber Hospitality House, 1615 Twelfth Street, Wichita Falls, TX 76301 (940) 764-2456.
