Mary Shawnna Porter was born in Honolulu, Hawaii at Tripler Army Hospital on May 23rd, 1972, to Nancy Lucas and Ronald Jones, Sr. She passed on August 15th, 2022, at the age of 50.
Shawnna spent most of her life in Jones, OK. She proudly held two degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma, BS Criminal Justice, and BS Forensic Science. She worked harder than anyone to be able to take care of her family, but also to be able to take trips the beach -her happy place. Shawnna was caring, courageous, and selfless among many other things. Most of all, she was a mom to many and a friend to everyone. She will be incredibly missed.
Shawnna has been preceded in death by her father, Ronald Jones, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Lucas, her husband, Rick Church, her three daughters, Jacque Craig, Lauren Porter, and Taylor Drew, and her three granddaughters, Gabby Edwards, Gentry Drew and Arbor Ognibene. She is also survived by her brothers, Ron Jones, and Randy Jones, as well as her godmother, Cindy Cline.
The funeral will be held at Del City Church of Christ at 10:00am Saturday, August 20th. In lieu of cut flowers the family asks that you send something that can be planted just as Shawnna would have loved.
