June Charlotte (Neely) Porter

June 16, 1926 ~ April 5, 2019

June Charlotte Porter was born on June 16, 1926 in Gilbert, Arkansas to Charles and Emma Neely. When she was three months old they moved to Glencoe, Oklahoma.

June began her education at Whitehall School and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1944. She loved the game of basketball and played all four years of high school.

On September 30, 1944 she was married to Max Porter. They lived near Glencoe and Stillwater for many years before moving to Ponca City in 1968. In 1995 after their retirement they moved back to Glencoe to live out their retirement years.

After moving to Ponca City, June started selling Avon and continued selling for over 30 years. In he spare time she loved working with the elderly and volunteering with Max over 25 years for the Salvation Army.

June is survived by her three children, Beverly Davis, Ronda (Bruce) Braga, and Mark Porter; four grandchildren, Brian (Dawney) Davis, Staci (Jerry) Cundiff, Chad (Jennifer) Braga and Craig (Santana) Braga; nine great grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Emma Davis, Shelbi (Taylor) Ballard, Joshua Cundiff, Harli Cundiff, Andrew Braga, Reygan Braga, Justin Braga and Madison Braga as well as on great grandchild, Axel Braga.

She is preceded in death by her husband Max, an infant granddaughter, two sisters, Geraldine Stokes and Billie Ingham, one brother Melvin Stokes, niece Sarah and nephew Loyd and many cousins.

The family would like to acknowledge friends Susie Cundiff, Jimmy and Margaret Walker.

Memorial contributions can be made to Physicians Choice Hospice or a charity of your choice, c/o Dighton Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, Ok. 74075.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 12, at 11:00 am at the Church of Christ in Glencoe, Oklahoma. Dighton Marler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
