Anna Lou Plott

October 24, 1940 ~ November 8, 2012 (age 72)

Anna Lou Plott was born on October 24, 1940 in Frederick, Oklahoma the middle child of Flossie Ann and James Charlie Plott.

Always an honor student in school, she was quickly accepted by her college of choice in Missouri - Cotty College.  Anna Lou continued to excel as a student there, and after graduation, she headed for Boulder, CO and eventually to New York City where she made her home for thirty years.  While there she interned at The Parson’s School of Design soon becoming a member of their faculty as an instructor of the difficult art of pattern making.  It wasn’t long before she was in professional demand as a Pattern Maker for Vogue, for leading designers such as Anna Sui and for many Broadway show costume designers.  In her private time, though, her passion was quilting – creating exquisite pieces for herself, friends and family.

After her retirement, she decided to leave the hectic pace of NYC in favor a more relaxed life-style.  For the past ten years, she shared a home in Norman, OK with her younger sister, Ginger Parker.  Chronic health issues became more problematic during the last couple of years but Anna Lou’s passing was unexpected.

Anna Lou will always be remembered for her ready-laugh and warmth.  She had an embracing sensibility that attracted many friends and will be missed by them all.

In addition to her sister Ginger, Anna Lou is survived by an older brother, Charles Raymond Plott and his wife, Marianna who live in Pasadena, CA; one niece, Rebecca Ann Ruiz, her husband Victor Ruiz and daughter, Raquel Ruiz;  a nephew, Charles Hugh Plott, and his wife, Keri, and their two children, Justin and Brandan.

The family would like to thank all of those who helped Anna Lou in her times of health needs, especially Diana Clouse, Shannon Gabeheart and Sarah Gabeheart, the staff at Sooner Dialysis in Norman and the staff at Brookhaven Extensive Care in Norman.

Arrangements for Anna and her family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.  Online condolences may be shared at www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com
