Funeral services for Lila May Platter, 73 of Fairview, OK will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Central Christian Church in Fairview, OK. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Fairview Funeral Home.

Lila was born May 17, 1944 in Winfield, KS. She was the daughter of Carl and Iris (Coombs) Askins., and passed away Tuesday evening, November 21, 2017 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center in Fairview, OK. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, KS.

She was united in marriage to Jerry Platter on November 3, 1967 at the Millington Street Baptist Church. The couple made their home in Winfield, KS then later moved to Superior, NE for Jerry's job. He then transferred to Enid, OK then finally Fairview, OK. 

She was always a homemaker until Jerry's cancer diagnosis in 1992. After he was no longer able to work, she began working at Fairview Hospital then later Fairview Fellowship Home as a CNA until her retirement in 2015.

Lila enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, gardening, and spoiling her "furbabies". 

Her family includes daughter, Sandy (Jason) Helm, daughter Sherri (Adam) Wallace, and son, Steve (Summer) Platter. Grandchildren - Amanda (Helmut) Riedinger, Cameron Boeckman, Aaron (Holly) Helm, Destinie Leathers, Ashlynn Wallace, Ethan Wallace, and Mason Platter. Great-grandchildren - Helmut, Maddalene, and Winter Riedinger. Siblings - Wayne (Kathy) Askins, Geri (Jack) Palmer, and the late Donald (Donna) Askins, and several nieces and nephews, and her 3 furbabies.

In addition to her parents and brother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry.

Memorials can be made to the Central Christian Church, or OMRF Heart Division with the Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodians.
