Laurie Sue (Standifer) Pitcher

Laurie Sue (Standifer) Pitcher
September 2, 1958 ~ February 12, 2023

Laurie Sue Pitcher “Standifer” passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 64.

Laurie was born on September 2, 1958, in Anchorage, Alaska to Gwendolyn Speers and Bobby Max Standifer.

Laurie was the middle child with her older brother Rick and younger sister Penny. The family moved to Oklahoma when Laurie was a little girl, where she would go on to attend and graduate from Del City High School.

Laurie had an artistic mind. She loved to have gatherings that would include making crafts for every holiday and would proudly display them for everyone to see. She had a talent for seeing someone else’s work and helping them improve it. Laurie was the glue to her family. She made sure to organize family gatherings and make sure to cook everyone’s favorites for birthdays and holidays. Laurie was always the caretaker and cheerleader of her family and friends, physically, mentally, and emotionally. She always had the best advice for everyone about everything. She received a #1 Grandma award from her family, that she had rightfully earned. Laurie loved her family and they in return loved her deeply.

Playing bingo was something she really enjoyed, and you could often find her at a local bingo hall playing with her friends. Aside from all her hobbies, Laurie enjoyed watching shows like The Chosen, the 100, Fox News and she even took on the roll as the family weather woman. She loved the simplicity of sitting on the porch every morning, drinking coffee, and watching the birds. She had an annual flower garden that she often tended to. Finding peace in the beauty of it.

The Lord was incredibly important to Laurie. She met regularly with her discipleship group where they would have in-depth conversations about the Lord and what He was doing in their lives. She was always seeking for ways to improve herself and walk in the ways of Jesus.

Laurie is preceded in death by her mother Gwendolyn Mae Speers.

She is survived by her children Shaunte Standifer, Danielle Standifer and Damiano and wife Chasidy Pitcher; grandkids Joseph Standifer, Christian Holifield, Izack Tiger, Milo Pitcher, Karis Gilliam and Liam Gilliam; great-grandkids Avery Standifer and Hadlee Holifield; father Bill Speers; siblings Rick and wife Carmen Standifer and Penny and husband Gary Porter; along with all of her nieces and nephews.
