Michael Reese Phillips "Pops" was called home December 2, 2014 at 12:20p.m.
He is survived by his two sons, Scott, wife Linda, and grandson Daniel of Oklahoma City, and Devin, wife Kala, and grandson Landon of Edmond. Parents, M.E.(Phil) and Joyce Phillips, Okmulgee. Harley and Margaret Mackey, Broken Arrow. Sister, Pat Shofner, Broken Arrow. Nephew,Ty Shofner, Dallas, TX. Also Debbie Aderhold the love of his life and soulmate for 23 years.
Predeceased by grandparents, Reese and Helen Phillips, Ellis and Bernice Cook, sister, Judy Lawson and great niece, Savannah Shofner.
Pops recently retired from the United States Post Office after 35 years of service. Prior to this he served in the United States Air Force and saw tours of duty at Lackland Air Force Base, Japan, and Key West, Florida. He also played college football at Cameron Junior College and Central State University where he earned his degree. Pops loved the outdoors, spoiling and spending time with his grandsons. Many considered him "Pops" and loved to hear his stories.
Funeral services will be held at Kelham Baptist Church on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 2:00p.m.
