Betty Lou (Horne) Pettigrove

December 28, 1917 ~ 2012

Betty Lou (Horne) Pettigrove, 94, resident of Bartlesville, died Friday morning at her residence.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements were directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Betty Lou Pettigrove was born December 28, 1917 at McAlester, Oklahoma to Floyd and Lucy (Farmer) Horne. She was raised and received her education in McAlester graduating high school there in 1935. Mrs. Pettigrove attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia and the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.

She was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bartlesville and a charter member of The Service League. Mrs. Pettigrove was married to John Pettigrove for many years and was active with the Jane Phillips Medical Center Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter; Mary Hull from Pawhuska, Oklahoma; one son Dr. John Pettigrove of Corpus Christy, Texas; eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pettigrove was preceded in death by her parents, her husband one daughter Nancy Wood and two grandsons John Byrd and John Wood.
