Marilyn Ardith (Stark) Peterson, 80, of Bartlesville, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus at The Journey Home in Bartlesville on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, after a long battle with dementia.
Marilyn was born on June 29, 1942, in York, Nebraska, to Charles L. and Evelyn (Kopcho) Stark. After graduating from high school, she attended Bethany Nazarene College, before it became Southern Nazarene University. She later worked for the Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City, Missouri. On October 6, 1973, she was united in marriage to Stanley Gayle Peterson in York, Nebraska. The couple moved from Fort Morgan, Colorado, to Bartlesville in 2013 to be closer to Marilyn’s family. This beautiful lady meant the world to so many. Her infectious laugh will be missed by anyone lucky enough to have heard it. She loved music, often singing special selections in church, and began singing with the Stark Trio, including her two sisters Patsy and Carolyn, as a child. Marilyn has now traded her confusion, stress, anxiety and fears for perfect peace, health, clear memory, and joy. Her homegoing is truly a blessing in heaven. She was fun, kind, and loving, and will be missed by many.
Those left to honor and enjoy her memory include her loving husband of 49 years, Stan of Bartlesville, OK; two sisters, Patsy (Jimmy) Dean of Ramona, Oklahoma, and Carolyn (Arthur) Sullivan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would especially like to thank Grace Hospice of Tulsa and The Journey Home of Bartlesville for their compassionate care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marilyn to The Journey Home, 900 Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
