Cecil James Peters

A private memorial service for Cecil Peters, 71, Enid, will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Cecil was born to Louis Edward and Mary Edna (Howard) Peters on Feb. 6, 1946, in Enid, and passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017, at his home in Enid.

Cecil grew up on the family farm south of Enid. He attended Enid Memorial High School and Enid Business College.

Cecil married Carol A. Mize in 1967, and they had three children.

In 1975, he opened and began operating Cecil's Jewelry. He loved to work and enjoyed spending time at the shop. Cecil was a hard worker and a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Cecil is survived by his wife Sherry; children Kenneth Peters of Colorado, Greg Peters (Michelle) of Piedmont, Tara Quigley (Keith Mason) of Enid, Terry Odenwald (Marion) of Tulsa and Terry Allen (Dedee) Stough of Texas; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, John Peters (Darlene); and three sisters, Phyllis Graumann, Lorene Harnish and Jean Taylor (Bruce).

He was preceded in death by his parents, and first wife Carol.
