Funeral service for Glenda Yvonne Pershina was held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 in Petaluma, Ca. with burial in Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Pershina was born Sept. 15, 1936 in Chickasha to the late Ira and Lucille Slusher Elledge and died Feb. 3, 2007 at her home in Cave Creek, Az. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1954, attended OCW, and received a BA in fashion merchandising in 1958 from OSU.
She was employed at Kerr's in Oklahoma City before moving to California in 1960. After settling in San Rafael, Glenda worked as a buyer for I. Magnin's in San Francisco.
She married Franklin Pershina in May 1961. They moved to Petaluma in 1967 where Glenda worked as a substitute teacher. She was an active member of AAUW, serving as membership chair. After their retirement, Franklin and Glenda lived in Chickasha for several years, working with the Main Street program during Chickasha's Centennial celebration.
Glenda is remembered as a devoted and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and loving sister.
She is survived by her husband Franklin, son Douglas, three grandsons and one granddaughter. Local relatives include her brother Franklynn Elledge of Chickasha and sisters Mary Anderson, Susan Thome and Becky Elledge, all of Oklahoma.
