Her family then moved to Aline, Okla., where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Aline High School in 1958.

After high school, Karen attended Oklahoma State University and received her bachelors degree in interior design in 1962.

Karen was employed at a furniture store in Wichita, Kan., where she helped people decorate and design the perfect room for their house. She would work from the store and many times go to the client's home to make sure the client was satisfied with her designs. Karen also worked as a waitress in Oklahoma.

Karen organized the Perry Community Theater, where she acted and directed many productions.

Karen and Jim Perry were married in 1971, in Aline, Okla.

Karen was a very lively and outgoing woman. She would always let you know what was on her mind, and never hold anything back.

Friendship was very important to her. She loved to take her friends out shopping for the day. Karen also would send out cards to all her friends, letting them know how much their friendship meant to her. An important friend to Karen was her dog; she was an avid dog lover. She always made sure her dogs were at her side and showed them as much love as she could give.

Karen was a true friend to all and she will be missed by many.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin I. and Mildred B. (Smith) Otti.

She is survived by her friends, Betty Nutter, Diane Kuhn and their family of Wichita, Kan., and many other friends and family in the Perry and Aline area.
