Lillian Pauline (Sebelius) Penton

Funeral services for Lillian P. Penton, 85, of Lawton are pending with Ferguson Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 11, 1920 in Rugby, N.D. and passed away Friday, April 22, 2005.

Lillian Pauline (Sebelius) Penton

Funeral services for Lillian P. Penton, 85, of Blanchard will be held Tuesday April 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church in Chickasha with David Thompson officiating.

Lillian Pauline Sebelius was born September 11, 1920 in Rugby, North Dakota the daughter of Niles Peter Sebelius and Lillie Olson Sebelius.

She died Friday April 22, 2005 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Lillian graduated from Overly High School in Overly, North Dakota in 1936. After high school she graduated from Rolla College where she received her Registered Nursing Degree, and was employed with Good Samaritan Hospital. Lillian also graduated from Texas Christian University where she received her Bachelor Degree and later graduated from Sioux Falls, North Dakota where she received her Masters Degree in Health Care.

On July 3, 1980 she married Robert "Sim" Penton in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Lillian spent twenty-seven years employed with the Veterans Administration Hospitasl in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Lillian loved to spend her time reading books, traveling and playing with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Chickasha. She was preceded in death by both parents, one brother, Allen Sebelius, and Husband, Robert Penton.

Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law; Paul O'Brien of Blanchard, Oklahoma, William O'Brien of Tunica, Mississippi, and John and Jane O'Brien of Big Spring, Texas, three brothers and sisters-in-law; Manville and Dorothy Sebelius of Dunseith, North Dakota, Wallace and Freda Sebelius of Eckerd, Colorado, and Kenneth Sebelius of Bottineau, North Dakota; grandchildren, Jeff and Jason O'Brien, Hugh Don O'Brien, Miranda Neives, Enid Stonerook and Matthew Casey O'Brien. Six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Interment will be in the Memory Hill Garden Cemetery under the direction of Memory Chapel in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
