Earl C. Pennington was born January 24, 1913 at Reydon, Oklahoma to Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Pennington and died suddenly September 14, 1967, at Lancaster, California at the age of 54 years, 7 months and 21 days.
He was married to Sula K. King on December 24, 1934 at Grimes, Oklahoma. To this union two sons and one daughter were born, Loren and Wendell Pennington and Mrs. Deanna Holman, all of Lancaster.
Earl had lived near Reydon most of his life until eleven years ago when they moved to Lancaster and later to the 509 E. K-12 home where they resided at the time of his death.
He had felt as well as usual, but was stricken about one hour afer reaching work and was dead on arrival after being rushed by ambulance to Memorial Hospital.
His mother, Mrs. Zora Pennington of Carnegie, Oklahoma; two sisters, Miss Auba Pennington of Carnegie; and Mrs. Evelyn Baker and husband of Fay; five brothers, Cliff of Weatherford; Dee of Chandler; Percy of Reydon; Pascal of Phillips, Texas; and their wives made the trip by plane to attend the funeral of their loved one. One brother, Parker of Seattle, Washington was unable to attend.
Besides the above mentioned family, he leaves three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held in Mumaw Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on September 16, 1967 with Rev. O. F. Dearing, Primitive Baptist Church of nearby Quartz Hill, officiating. He was laid to rest in the family plot in the beautiful Joshua Memorial Park in Lancaster, California.
