Mary Jane Penner, age 57 of Wayne, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Norman Regional Hospital. She was born February 29, 1956 in Norman, OK. She grew up in Lexington and attended school there, graduating in 1974. While in school, she was active in sports and especially liked playing basketball. She later attended college for a couple of years before joining the workforce. During her life, Mary Jane worked at various places including the Koax Corporation, Don James Company and most recently Convergys Corporation. Mary Jane loved being a mother to Jeremy and Tammy, and looked forward to family get to-gethers. She loved her sports including Thunder Basketball and never missed an OU Football game. She liked to watch TV; everything from old Mash episodes to Duck Dynasty and anything to do with an unsolved mystery. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, an aunt and a good friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her mother and step-father, Bertha and Ira Kelso.
Mary Jane leaves behind: Her daughter, Tammy Peery and husband Tony Nelson of Norman; Her son, Jeremy Penner and wife Lisa of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Shyanne Bruton, Colton Penner, Brendon Peery and Blake Penner; Many cousins, aunts and uncles and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell.
